20 Week Bumpdate

Halfway there! I turned 20 weeks this past Saturday and it doesn’t even seem possible. It really has flown by. I’m finally starting to show just a bit but certainly haven’t popped yet! Although, most people are still shocked when I tell them how far along I am. I’m still fitting in my skinny jeans for now but any of my high-waisted pants are done for now. I have gained 5 total pounds during pregnancy so far but lost 2 between my last appointment and anatomy scan which means I’m down to 3 pounds but my doctor isn’t concerned. She said genetics have a huge part in how much you gain and how you carry. She also said I should starting gaining more now as the weeks progress. Obviously, for anyone currently pregnant my weight gain isn’t necessarily normal so always talk to your doctor for a safe and healthy range you should be in! I know it’s easy to compare to others but definitely don’t fall victim to that. Your body knows what you and your baby need!

The only symptoms this 2nd trimester so far have been headaches almost everyday which nothing helps, acid reflux off and on, severe sinus congestion, and those pesky pimples! I am still so tired no matter how much I sleep. Waiting on that 2nd trimester energy surge everyone raves about! I feel pretty blessed overall to have had an easy pregnancy so far though. My biggest cravings are still fountain Diet Cokes, bread, fresh fruit, and cereal as snack. Some days I can’t eat enough and other days I’m barely hungry. Honestly, very similar to my non-pregnant appetite.Β

We had our anatomy scan recently which is a ultrasound! We got to see Turner moving a lot. It was so cool to see how much he had grown since the 8 week ultrasound. His heartbeat was around 154 average and all his anatomical features are measuring exactly where they are supposed to be for my current week in pregnancy. We were so relieved to get good news! It certainly helped alleviate a ton of anxiety for us both. Since this scan two weeks ago I have been feeling “Flutters” which is the term people often use when you first start feeling the baby. It is very inconsistent but still so cool to feel and stops me in my tracks every time! I’m excited to feel the actual kicks in the coming weeks. Only a little over 19 weeks until we meet Baby Boy!
