It’s almost that time of the year…. Christmas! I really enjoy having photos made of our little family each year and sending out a Christmas card. Stumped on what to wear for your photo shoot for your own card? I’m here to help with that, although, I cannot help with whether both your dogs look at the camera or not! My Golden, Maddux, decided not to look this year.
I chose this long-sleeved maxi in emerald from Lulu’s paired with an old Kendra Scott necklace. This dress also comes in black and is a perfect classic addition to your closet. It would be great for a wedding, engagement photos or a baby shower! (https://www.lulus.com/products/swept-away-forest-green-long-sleeve-maxi-dress/383032.html)
Earrings were only $5 from Walmart, Time and Tru brand. I am so obsessed with them! They’re gorgeous, affordable and not heavy at all.
Shoes are old from Tory Burch. I love a maxi dress for photos because I feel like it is elegant and timeless. In the past, I’ve worn a floral print maxi and a burgundy maxi. I love doing photos that aren’t too Christmas color filled so they can be enjoyed year round.
My husband chose dark wash jeans, cowboy boots and an oxford from Vineyard Vines. The dogs have a bowtie and bandana from ETSY. I love the faux Burberry look!
Another great tip for finding an outfit to wear for photos is to rent a dress from Rent the Runway! There are so many great options with reviews of each dress.
My biggest tip for what to wear is to make sure you’ll be comfortable bending down if needed for photos whether that be the waist or bust area. We also love including our dogs in our photos. It is a hassle for us and the photographer because they would rather play than pose but I love having these memories.

For the actual Christmas card I use ETSY to have a digital file created or create my own on Vista Print. This is the most economical way I have found. Then, I buy gold sharpies and white envelopes from Amazon in order to address the cards.
