VF Outlet

I recently had the opportunity to partner with VF Outlets and shop a location near me in order to style three looks. I visited the Outlets of Little Rock location but there are 74 stores located throughout the country. Go to www.vfoutlet.com to see if there is a location near you!

When I arrived at the store I was met by their manager Stacy who was very friendly and helpful throughout my shopping experience. The store is arranged into sections by men’s clothing, children’s clothing, junior’s clothing, and misses clothing.

In the women’s section they have casual clothing, active wear, sleepwear, and accessories.

I loved this this fuzzy pullover that was only $24!

This cute tie-front sweater was only $17 and the skinny jeans were $19! Such great prices for quality items.

I also chose this pale pink workout top and fun lace-up leggings! Both pieces together were $25. Great for working out or running errands!

I thought this cropped fair isle sweater was so fun! I cannot wait until it is actually cool enough to wear this outfit. Special thanks to VF Outlet for allowing me to partner with them and style these looks. I cannot wait to shop with them again for great prices and quality pieces! Do not forget to take a look at VF Outlet on Facebook and like their page to receive updates on specials. Do you have a VF Outlet near you? Let me know if you decide to shop there and what you buy!

What To Wear For Engagement Pictures

Being engaged is one of the most exciting and happiest times in your life but what no one tells you is how many decisions you will have to make between now and getting married. I remember I was so overwhelmed with what to choose to wear for our engagement photos since these would be around forever. You know when you look back on photos from your past and cringe about your hair, make-up, outfit? I did not want that to happen with these photos.

Our photos were taken at the end of January but we got blessed with unseasonable warm and beautiful day. When preparing for our photos my photographer advised me not to wear anything white. I was kind of unsure about that advice at first but now I am so glad I took her advice! Her reasoning is that you wear white all day on your wedding day so save something special for that day.

I did two outfit changes. I am such a dress girl that I decided to make both outfits involve one of those. Both of my outfits were from Show Me Your Mumu. The first was the bell sleeve dress with the print. I loved the colors of this dress and actually already owned it prior to getting engaged which I paired with Tory Burch riding boots.

The second outfit was also from Show Me Your Mumu. It was the black lace dress that I paired with my red cowboy boots. I loved the classic look of this dress and chose it in hopes that when I look at these pictures in a decade or two I will still be happy with my choice to wear it.

As far as jewelry I wore my rings, a watch, small dainty Kendra Scott necklace and earrings. The funniest part of the whole day is we get out to the farm my husband’s family has and I am missing one of my earrings. Thinking it has fallen us we are all searching frantically for it. We never find it so we did the whole engagement shoot with my only having one earring on but you can never tell in any of the pictures. Got home later and found it in the hallway on the floor!

I had my hair and makeup done professionally prior to the photos because it really is not something that I am great at. Definitely splurge for those things if you think it would help you look your best!

My husband also made two outfit changes. He wore dark jeans for the first with checkered button-up. He wore a plaid button up and khaki Wranglers for the second outfit. My advice for dressing your significant other is make sure they wear something that is within their usual style. We wanted a more casual look for our photos so he selected clothing according to that.

My only regrets from our engagement photos are that I had barbie pink nail polish on. I wish I had chosen a more neutral shade or a french manicure. I also wish I had worn a more neutral lipstick instead of pink but at the time that was my go to shade. Overall I am very pleased with how they turned out even almost 3 years later.

And of course do not hesitate to have your fur children in your photos. We only had Reese at the time and she ended up in a photo with us that we chose for our save-the-date that was sent out to our guests! Questions about what to wear for your engagement shoot? I would love to help! Looking for a photographer in the Texas/Arkansas/Oklahoma area? I have your girl! She’s amazing to work with and also did our wedding. Venice Travel Guide

Venice was our final stop on our trip to Italy. It’s truly a city unlike any other.

Arriving by train will put you right where the Vaporetto (Water Taxi) stop. We bought an unlimited ticket for our time there. Fortunately most of Venice is extremely walkable and we did not need to use it much. Schedule and tickets here.

We had dinner one evening outside on the canal at Trattoria da Roberto. I had the delicious lobster pasta shown above in the photo. Our other favorite dining experience was actually a to-go lunch. Baci and Pasta opens at noon and you should be there prior to that to insure a spot close to the front of the line. He has pastas of the day that change but are all delicious. I had a ravioli in butter and sage sauce and a mini bottle of prosecco for under $10 USD. It’s one man cooking and serving which makes it a truly local experience. I highly recommend.

Drink a bellini! No, but seriously you should. They were created here originally and they are available in every restaurant and gift shop. We visited Doges Palace and it was unbelievable. The history and architecture must be seen in person to truly be appreciated. After our visit we explored St. Mark’s Square which is full of restaurants, shops, and the best people watching. We also toured Teatro La Fenice which is the opera house. It has been burned down and rebuilt several times. Unfortunately the opera was not in session when we were there. If you are able I would get tickets to a show and attend in this gorgeous theatre.

We took the vaporetto to Burano Island which about a 45 minute trip each way. It is a gorgeous and colorful town. We walked around exploring for awhile and had Nutella crepes at a local shop that were delicious. One of Burano’s biggest claims to fame is their lace. There is even a Lace Museum. I highly suggest going as early as possible because it does get crowded later in the day.

We stayed at Hotel Rio and the location was perfect for sightseeing and close to many great restaurants. They will also hold your luggage on your check out day until you leave Venice. I highly recommend for safe, clean, and A/C included rooms!

Our trip to Venice was two days and I felt like that was plenty of time. The only thing we didn’t do was a gondola ride but it was so hot that we decided against it. Have you been to Venice? What was your favorite part? Leave me a comment and let me know!

My #NSale Picks

Early Access for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale began yesterday and I’m sharing my picks today! Y’all this is probably my favorite purchase I made during this sale. I’ve been wanting one of these jackets forever but couldn’t justify it because of the price. It’s on sale for $149 which is the cheapest I’ve ever seen. I’m a bit of a self-proclaimed Patagonia-holic. I have more pullovers than I care to share, multiple vests and a sweater jacket. I have two heavy duty puffer coats already but felt like this would be greater for weather that’s not below freezing. I got the Small so I could wear layers underneath it. Patagonia Down Jacket I got these Lucky booties in a 6.5 in the grey color. I honestly don’t buy a ton of shoes other than sneakers because they just don’t typically excite me. I love these though and still want them in another color! Lucky Yabba Bootie I’ve been wanting to try La Mer forever because I’ve heard so many good things but the price tag has kept me away. This set is $85 and contains the eye cream and moisturizer and typically just the moisturizer costs that much for the smallest size. I’m going to do a skin care post soon and I’ll review both of these items. La Mer Little Miracles CollectionI already have three of these Leith cocoon cardigans from previous years so I told myself I wouldn’t buy any this year. Then I saw this color. I had to have it since it’s my favorite color and can’t wait for it to come in. These cardigans are pretty light weight and fit very true to size. This sleeves are usually pretty long so I just roll them. I always get an XS in these. Leith Cocoon CardiganTwo of my favorite things…sweatshirt material and ruffles. Teacher friends, y’all need this for school! I’m not able to link this right now because it says it can’t be found. I’ll update if I get the link.I’ve been on a pajama kick lately and I’m not made about it. Excited to try these! I always go up a size in lounge clothing to make sure they’re extra comfortable. I got a small in these pants. $25 is a steal for these as they’re usually $40. Lounge Pant This camisole sold out last year so I didn’t get to try it. I ordered this color in an XS and know I will layer it under so many cardigans this fall and winter. BP Cami Zella 3-pack of seamless underwear. These look super comfy and I’m all about seamless everything. I got an XS.Zella 3-Pack Briefs Zella 3-Pack Briefs Got this Adidas pack of socks in the mint collection but apparently those sold out and I couldn’t find the picture. Loving this set with the pink though! I can never have enough athletic socks….I swear they always wind up missing. Adidas SocksMy feet are cold literally 24/7. I wear my UGG slippers year round. These Barefoot Dreams socks have great reviews and I decided to try this pair.  Barefoot Dreams SocksASTR the Label jumpsuit in Navy. I cannot wait to wear this to work! I feel like this is a piece that will never go out of style. Gibson Convertible Wrap in Black. I love how versatile this piece is. It can be worn as pictured but also has snaps so you can convert it to a shirt or anything else you want. I feel like this would be a great gift for your sister, mother, mother-in-law etc. I was between this color and the grey. It comes in quite a few colors though. Gibson Fleece WrapI love a good tee shirt dress. The tie detail is so good and makes it flattering for many different body types. It also comes in black. I got a small for extra length. Tie Waist Tee Shirt DressLove this cozy sweater. It can be worn as pictured or turned around backwards with the knot in the back for a low-back look. I got a small. BP Twist Front SweaterI love a good plaid flannel. This color is very different from any of the others I own. It will be a great season transition piece. I got an XS. BP Plaid Shirt

So excited that thermals are on trend this year because I’ve been obsessed for awhile! I can’t wait to wear this one tied up in the front. I got an XS in this color. Thermal CardiganI am camo obsessed! I cannot wait to layer this piece under a vest. This thermal comes in many different color options. I got the XS and honestly want it in another color. Camo ThermalBarefoot Dreams Circle cardigan has always been something I’ve wanted to try. I got it in this charcoal color and hoping it lives up to the hype!

This my favorite fragrance company and a new scent for them. Excited to try it! My favorite scent and diffuser. If you only buy one item for your home let it be this! Love a good basic tee. Got this color in an XS. Unfortunately they sold out of the tan stripe but I’m going to keep checking back for a restock. BP Raw Edge TeeI didn’t purchase this Duffield Throw by UGG because I already had it. I got it from my mother-in-law two years ago for Christmas and I’m obsessed. I sleep with it every night. Makes a great gift! It’s on major sale and I have it in this deep charcoal color. I’ve washed it many times and it has stayed in pristine condition. Highly recommend! The following items are things I didn’t buy but are still on my wishlist. Trying to have some self-control here y’all.I’ve been a Nike diehard as long as I can remember but Adidas is slowly winning me over. The past two pairs of their shoes I’ve purchased have been SO comfortable. Love this color and don’t have this style yet. Trying to decide if I really need another pair of sneakers though! These are only $63 which is an absolute steal. I’m obsessed with anything that has a bow. So I technically may not need these but they’re so cute! Haven’t purchased because I need to know if they’re comfortable or not. I don’t do uncomfortable shoes no matter how cute. Leave me a comment and let me know what you’re getting from the sale!

Love, Megan
